    Slender annual herb to 30 cm tall, glabrous, branched from near the bas; leaves on the stem entire, 5-20x 3--12 mm, ±ovate; ray-leaves similar, but with shorter petioles; raylet-leaves smaller; rays 3, dichotomous; not spiny.
    Ecology :
    Shady places among rocks in evergreen bushland; winter rainfall area of escarpment (Erithrea); 1150-130 m alt. Cosmopolitan weed, perhaps of mediterranean origin.
